FY 2024 Street Resurfacing Project

The FY 2024 Street Resurfacing Project takes place May - September 2024. The project involves upgrading street corner ramps to meet ADA compliance, removal and replacement of damaged concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and driveway aprons to meet City standards as well as storm drain repairs on select streets. After the concrete work is complete, the roadways will be milled, repaved, and re-striped.

Construction hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m for local/residential street and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for Collector/Arterial streets. This work will require limited parking restrictions and driveway closures during construction. Residents will be notified if closure of their driveway is necessary. Three days before any work begins, “No Parking” signs will be placed on the street restricting parking in work areas.

FY 2024 Streets Preventive Maintenance Project

The FY 2024 Streets Preventive Maintenance Project will be providing new roadway surfaces for various streets throughout the City by applying a slurry seal over the existing road to prevent further deterioration. Prior to the application of the slurry seal, the Contractor will prepare each project street. Work typically includes base failure repairs, removal of existing striping, and crack sealing. The roads will be restriped after the slurry seal has been applied. Construction hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for local and residential streets and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for collector and arterial streets. “No Parking” signs will be posted three days in advance of any work.

Vehicles can be parked on adjacent RPP streets to the slurry seal streets the day prior and the day of the scheduled slurry sealing. City of Palo Alto Police and Parking have been notified of the project and will be provided the slurry seal application schedule. Once the slurry seal has been applied and reopened to the public, regular parking enforcements and restrictions will resume.
