Palo Alto Earns Spot on 2022 CDP Cities A List
Published on November 18, 2022
The City of Palo Alto has been recognized by environmental impact non-profit, CDP as one of 122 cities and counties across the globe that is taking bold leadership on environmental action and transparency.
CDP's Cities A List is based on environmental data and is designed to encourage and support local governments to ramp up their climate action and ambition. To score an A, among other actions, a local government must disclose publicly through CDP-ICLEI Track, have a community-wide emissions inventory, and have a published climate action plan. Of the over 1,000 local governments scored by CDP this year, just over one in ten (12% of such local governments) received an A.
This accomplishment is indicative of the many actions Palo Alto has taken this year demonstrating climate leadership, including the approval of the S/CAP Goals and Key Actions, the adoption of a carbon neutrality by 2030 goal, and more.
