New Rideshare Service on Track to Start Spring 2023
Published on February 27, 2023
A new shuttle service is launching on March 7, Palo Alto Link! Thanks to a new VTA grant, the new shuttle service is on track to start this Spring. Customers will be able to take trips that start and end almost anywhere in Palo Alto. 8-10 vehicles will serve Palo Alto riders with each trip to cost $3.50, and $1.00 fares available for disabled, low-income, youth, and seniors.
Palo Alto Link will have no predetermined routes, and instead it will be based on customer request, or "on-demand," serving most citywide destinations and providing connectivity to other transit. Similar ride-share shuttle services are offered in West Sacramento and Cupertino.
Shuttle quick facts:
- Customers will be able to request rides through an app, web browser, or phone call.
- Pick-up and drop-off locations will be within walking distance of rider requests, with door-to-door service available for riders requiring extra assistance.
- Regular adult fares are expected to be $3.50, with $1.00 fares for disabled, low-income, youth, and senior community members.
Be sure to check back at www.cityofpaloalto.org/PaloAltoLink after March 1 to download the app and book your first ride! Sign up to receive transportation-related updates and get notified when the service is launched!
All Rides are Free from March 7 - April 7!
