PAPD Memorial

This week is National Police Week, and a short ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 17 to honor the sacrifice of the three officers in Palo Alto history who have been killed in the line of duty including Reserve Officer Lester Cole, Officer Gene Clifton, and Reserve Officer Theodore Brassinga. The ceremony took place adjacent to Memorial Grove where three massive Coast Redwood trees stand together in Cogswell Plaza. Memorial Grove was dedicated to the Palo Alto Police Department fallen officers by the City of Palo Alto in 2014. The trees were originally planted at the site in 1955 and are nearby the location of the City's first police station.
