As the 32nd anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake approaches on October 17, we are reminded of the importance of earthquake preparedness — earthquakes can strike at any time. The United States Geological Survey estimates a 72% probability of a 6.7 magnitude earthquake occurring the Bay Area within the next 30 years.
