Veterans Day Recognition Event

 The City of Palo Alto and Stanford University are pleased to once again host a local Veterans Day Recognition Event on Saturday, 11 November 2023 at 11:00 am to recognize the service and contributions of the Veterans of our U.S. Armed Forces.

We are partnering with a number of organizations and institutions including: 

  • The Palo Alto VA Health Care System
  • Stanford University Office of Military-Affiliated Communities
  • Palo Alto American Legion Post 375
  • Military Officers Association of America
  • Blue Star Moms of the South Bay
  • Gunn High School. 

 Veterans have made and continue to make valuable contributions to our community and we encourage you to join us at this event to demonstrate your support of these great Americans.  All are invited to attend.  

Highlights of the event:

  • Guest speakers include City of Palo Alto Mayor, Lydia Kou and Stanford President Dr. Richard Saller.   
  • Our Keynote Speaker is US Army Colonel (Retired) Patty Wernet, current President of CalMOAA (Califonia - Military Officers Association of America)
  • South Bay Blue Star Moms will present a quilt to Charles Scott, World War II Veteran with service in the US Navy.
  • Members of the Gunn High School Chorus will provide musical performances. 
  • The master of ceremonies for the event is Hayden Shelden, USMC.  Personal Biography

Parking is available in the Building 101 parking lot, as well as in the Parking Garage on Loop Road.
