The Public Art Program is pleased to announce two upcoming free creative community engagement sessions with King Artist in Residence Kirti Bassendine. During these sessions the artist will engage general public in creative activities that will stimulate discussion about housing, equity, and belonging in Palo Alto. Participants are encouraged to come with two-dimensional objects that represent home to them. Sessions will take place at Rinconada Library September 27th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM and 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
Free drop-in sessions are open to the public of all ages and abilities. For more information, please contact the Public Art Program staff at 650-617-3517 or visit www.cityofpaloalto.org/publicart.
The Palo Alto Public Art Program’s second King Artist-in-Residence Kirti Bassendine is focusing on diverse underserved communities residing and/or working in Palo Alto and experiencing socio-economic or housing instability. The project goal is to spark conversations about inclusion, equity, and a sense of belonging, and will result in a final temporary artwork displayed on King Plaza.
