What's Up Wednesday: Wooden Octopus Craft
Did you know an octopus has color pigments in its cells that allow it to change colors? Can you believe they also have cells below the pigment cells that reflect light like little mirrors! An octopus changes color to camouflage but can also produce a texture to blend in.
Come decorate a wood cutout octopus and show what colors you would display! Led by local artist Robin Mullery, artist-in-residence with the City of Palo Alto and the Cubberley Artist Studio Program. Robin loves the ocean and enjoys using found material to make art. The octopus is near and dear to her for their innate vulnerability, quick thinking, and playfulness.
Registration mandatory. Age recomendations: 3-13.
