Caltrans El Camino Real Bikeway Project Community Meeting

The City continues to engage with Caltrans regarding the El Camino Real repaving project, which is set to rehabilitate a nine-mile stretch from the Sunnyvale/Mountain View border to the Palo Alto/Menlo Park border. This project, scheduled to span from Fall 2023 to Fall 2025, includes repaving, sidewalk and curb ramp updates for ADA access, enhanced crosswalks at key intersections, and the addition of bike lanes in Mountain View and Los Altos. Caltrans is recommending adding bike lanes through Palo Alto. Caltrans recently shared draft plans related to the proposed Bikeways project and is hosting a community meeting on Feb. 29 to gain community feedback.
