Gas Main Replacement 24 B

Project Description

The Natural Gas Main Replacement Project 24B will replace approximately 18,750 linear feet of natural gas mains and services with polyethylene (PE) pipe in neighborhoods of University Park and Crescent Park, a business district complex adjacent on Geng Road, and Town & Country Village Plaza. The project targets replacement of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and black-wrapped steel (BWP) gas mains and gas services that are near or past their operational life expectancy, have become brittle over time, and are identified to be corroded due to the lack of cathodic protection. In addition, this project includes the installation of approximately 145 linear feet of 6-inch PVC water main and replacement of three existing water services at Town & Country Village Plaza.

Scope of Work

• Replacing the gas distribution system with PE.
• Installation of PE gas main and gas services at the business complex on Geng Road, Town & Country Village Plaza, and University Ave.
• Installation of PVC water main and replacement of 3 existing water services at Town & Country Village.

Project Status 

Construction started in January 2024. Work at Geng Road and Town & Country Village Plaza is complete. Work is ongoing in the remaining streets of University Avenue. The final completion date is March 28, 2025.
