How this evaluation helps us serve you

The City of Palo Alto wants to find new ways to support your needs. This could include incentives, contractor assistance, advisory services, or even direct installation of all-electric equipment. Installing and upgrading equipment such as electric vehicle charging stations, heat pump water and space heating, induction cooking, and other electric equipment moves Palo Alto towards reaching its goals to create a greener community. But before we can do this, we need your help to understand the type of equipment in Palo Alto buildings.

This study is being done in partnership with Willdan, a leader in engineering and energy solutions supporting the adoption of electrification technologies by California’s utilities and their customers.

Reaching the City’s Sustainability and Climate Action Goals

Palo Alto is a leader in sustainability and climate action and is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 1990 levels by 2030, plus achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. By participating in the Building Sector Studies Field Evaluation, you impact the development of roadmaps to reach these goals. These evaluations help the City better understand what commercial equipment is in use and how upgrades may be incentivized to reduce emissions impacts.
