The City of Palo Alto owns and operates the Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP), which treats up to 20 million gallons of wastewater every day for the communities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Stanford, and the East Palo Alto Sanitary District. Watershed Protection works with the RWQCP to assist with regulatory compliance and administer the Industrial Discharge Program.
