Storm Drain System

Storm Drain System

The various elements of the City's municipal storm drain system (catch basins, pipelines, box culverts, manholes, flap gates, pump stations, outfalls, and creeks) are mapped out in the City's Geographical Information System (GIS). The GIS map is annotated with storm drain pipe diameters, manholes and catch basin depths, and direction of flow in the pipeline network. The GIS storm drain system map is available for public viewing at the City of Palo Alto Development Center, located at 285 Hamilton Avenue, across the street from Palo Alto City Hall. Parties interested in viewing the map should ask for assistance from one of the Public Works Engineering Services staff members at the Development Center.
