Mayfield Soccer Complex

November 28 Update: Construction work to remove and replace the infill will begin this Wednesday, Nov. 30. Work will take 10 – 12 good weather workdays.  With rain in the forecast and weekends, the project may span 3 weeks or longer. Contractor will focus on one field at a time, to keep the other field open to allow play to continue. However, there may be 1 – 2 days where both fields will be closed during the work transition from one field to another. Equipment and materials staging will be in the parking lot and may necessitate closure of 1 of the 2 parking lot entrances.

Stanford / Palo Alto Community Playing Fields 

5.9 acres of land devoted to two regulation soccer/rugby fields for youth and/or adult games.

History

An agreement between Stanford University and the city of Palo Alto leases this Stanford land to Palo Alto for $1.00 a year for 51 years.  Ground breaking was in 2005; the fields were ready for play in 2006. Mayfield Elementary School once stood on this site.
