Annual passes to the Foothills Nature Preserve are available for purchase. There are also several options for free and discounted annual passes. Please note single day use passes are available at the entrance gate at a fee of $6 per vehicle (9 passenger or less capacity) per day.   

  • Active military and veterans please purchase via phone or in person only (bring valid military or veteran identification).
  • The Community Services Fee Reduction Program is applicable to free annual passes. Complete the Fee Reduction Application and submit required eligibility verification documentation. Supporting documents can attached to the form, or e-mailed to enjoyonline@cityofpaloalto.org. After application approval, annual pass can be obtained online, via phone, or in person.

Step 1.Rules & Requirements

  • $50 for residents and City employees.
  • $65 for non-residents.
  • 25% discount for seniors (resident or non-resident).
  • Free for active military, veterans, and low-income visitors (residents or non-resident).
  • Annual Pass may be interchanged between two vehicles in the same household.
  • Your pass will be valid for one year and will expire on the last day of the month in which you purchased. 
  • Memberships are non-refundable, non-transferrable, and able to be used by only members of your household. 

     Free Annual Passes:

  • Active members of the United States Military and Veterans of the armed services may apply for a free annual pass via phone or in person only (bring valid military or veteran identification).
  • Students in the 4th Grade may apply for a free annual pass. The pass is valid from August of the year the student begins 4th Grade to August 31st the following year. Students must be present in the vehicle when using the student pass.
  • People with developmental, hearing, speech, visual, mental, or physical disabilities may apply for a free annual pass.
  • Low-income visitors may apply for a free annual pass.

  • Students between the ages of 16-24 years of age are eligible for a 50% discount on the purchase of an annual pass.
  • Visitors Over 60 Years of Age are eligible for a 25% discount on the purchase of an annual pass.

  • Your physical pass will be mailed to you. Passes should arrive 7-10 days after purchase date. Your pass will need to be displayed on your rear view mirror when in the nature preserve. If you plan on visiting the park prior to receiving your pass, please have your transaction receipt available as proof of purchase for entrance (available via your Enjoy! Online account).

Head to the Lucie Stern Community Center to purchase your annual pass.

Step 4.Enjoy Your Pass

  • A receipt and physical pass will be given to you after the transaction is complete. You can enjoy the benefits of your Foothills Preserve Annual Pass immediately.
