Esboscada Roja/Red Ambush

The artwork investigates the abstraction and encoding into a pattern using a specific map and territory as the starting "found object". It starts off with the map of Tijuana, Mexico, bordering the U.S. Using digital filters, information is abstracted creating a codex or tapestry. The artwork accentuates the coexistence, symbiosis, and confrontation between these two vast territories.
