Dominique Pfahl
About the artist:
Dominique Pfahl and her husband created Floréal in downtown San Francisco in 1981. As Floréal's owner and main designer, she always had a passion for the natural world. Born and raised in Nice, France, she would spend her weekends visiting with her family in the countryside. To pass the time, she would make flower bouquets and sell them in the town farmer's market. For decades Pfhal was known in San Francisco for her unique style and creative compositions. Her floral works were consistently on display at Bouquet to Arts, the yearly event of at the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum. Now that her creative practice has pivoted to collage, her work is exhibited in galleries and museums, including the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and featured in Create Magazine.
