About the artist

Kala Stein is a ceramic artist based in Sonoma, California whose work explores dynamic systems and environments within the intersections of design, production, and the handmade. Kala received her MFA from Alfred University in 2009, was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts grant along with three collaborators in 2017, and teaches ceramics internationally.
