About the artist:

The idyllic rolling hills and mountains in Jordan Nassar's works, rendered through hand-embroidered textiles, explore the intersections of language, ethnicity, heritage, and homeland. Born in New York City of Palestinian descent, Nassar treats craft as a communicative form, tapping into the rich history of Palestinian embroidery. His stich work blends geometric patterns such as tatreez embroidery (a form of traditional hand stitching used to decorate pillows and garments) with intricately patterned screens composed of fleurettes and other symmetrical geometries.

Jordan Nassar received his B.A. in Linguistics from Middlebury College. He lives and works in New York, NY.
