City Council & Committee Meetings

There are many public meetings that support and inform the City’s legislative process and decision making in Palo Alto. These include City Council meetings, City Council Committee meetings, and Boards, Commission, Committee meetings. City Council Summer & Winter Breaks

The City Council annually approves a Summer & Winter Break an adopted Resolution. Within those dates, Council does not hold regular Council or Standing Committee meetings. At the December 11, 2023 City Council meeting, City Council approved Resolution 10136 to adopt the 2024 City Council and Committee Calendar. The Summer Break is June 25 - August 4, 2024, and the Winter Break is December 20 - January 5, 2024.

Meeting Schedule

The regular schedule for Council meetings are as follows:

• City Council Meetings are held on the first three Mondays of the month at 5:30 p.m.
• City/School Liaison Committee meets monthly on the third Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
• Council Appointed Officers Committee meets as needed.
• Finance Committee meets monthly on the first and third Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
• Policy and Services Committee meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m.
• Rail Committee meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
• Retail Committee meetings monthly on third Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
