Adobe Creek Path to Remain Closed for Bridge Construction

The Benjamin Lefkowitz bike/pedestrian undercrossing at Adobe Creek that closes every winter due to seasonal rain flooding concerns will remain closed beyond April this year. Construction of the pedestrian/bicycle bridge across Highway 101 at Adobe Creek is set to begin this spring and when completed, the bike/pedestrian bridge will replace the flood-prone undercrossing and provide year-round access.

The bridge is part of Palo Alto’s 2014 Infrastructure Plan and will span over Highway 101, and East and West Bayshore Roads from south Palo Alto to the Baylands, providing a link for bike riders and pedestrians to access businesses and recreation trails on both sides of the highway. Construction is anticipated to be completed in summer 2021.
