Take Boulware Park Survey to Share Ideas for Park Amenities

An online survey is being conducted to gain input from the community on what types of facilities they want to see included in the renovation of Boulware Park and the neighboring property at 3350 Birch Street that the City purchased earlier this year.

The purchase enables the City to meet its Comprehensive Plan requirement calling for neighborhood parks to be at least 2 acres. The Birch Street property adds approximately 27,829 square feet to the 1.5 acres that currently make up Boulware Park. It also enable the City to increase the recreational amenities in the park and meet its goal of having a park within a half mile of every residence.

Boulware Park currently includes playground equipment that was installed in 1993 and will soon need replacement. There are two children’s playgrounds on the Boulware Park site, a basketball court, and two picnic areas with barbeques. This is a great opportunity to invest in the community and add new recreational amenities while we are in the midst of creating a master plan for the North Ventura neighborhood.

Please take a few moments to fill out the survey here. The deadline to submit your response is January 24 and responses will be used to help determine how the park and newly acquired land are developed.
