Hotel Tax Measure to Be Placed on Fall Ballot

The Council voted to place a measure on the November 2018 ballot that would raise the Transit Occupancy Tax by 1.5 percentage points from the current 14% to 15.5%. The increase is aimed at completing the 2014 Council Infrastructure Plan that has a funding gap of approximately $76 million due to construction cost escalation, project scope increases and refined cost estimates.
