Mayor's Annual Tree Planting Includes Employee Recognition
The 22nd Annual Canopy Tree Planting and Awards Ceremony welcoming Palo Alto's newly elected mayor, Liz Kniss, will take place on Thursday, Jan. 25. This year’s ceremony will take place at the Downtown Library at 270 Forest Avenue beginning at 5:15 p.m.
The Canopy Tree Awards presentation will take place in City Hall following the ceremonial tree planting. Dave Dockter, a Planning Arborist for the City, is among the honorees. Dockter, who is retiring after 21 years of service, is being recognized as a champion for Palo Alto’s urban forests.
Last year, Mayor Greg Scharff planted his tree at the Mitchell Park Community Center. You can see where all the mayors’ trees are planted by clicking on this map.
The public is invited to join the festivities and encouraged to RSVP here.
