Get Ready to Pedal to Bike Palo Alto

Pump up your bike tires and get ready to explore Palo Alto’s bike friendly routes as Bike Palo Alto returns for an 8th year on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 1-3 p.m.

The free event, sponsored by the City, starts at El Carmelo Elementary School (Bryant Street & Loma Verde Avenue), where there are three marked routes to choose from shorter and longer options. Route Concierges will be on hand to help guide you.

“The City is joining forces with the community to put on this event that works toward our efforts to prioritize pedestrian and bicycle safety, reduce motor vehicle congestion, and help meet our goal of doubling bicycle commute rates while reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions,” said Joshua Mello, Chief Transportation Official.

Bike Palo Alto encourages bike safety and also serves as a kickoff for the Walk & Roll events in Palo Alto schools during the first week of October.

Bike Palo Alto event highlights include:

  • Route maps and safety guidance
  • Free bike bell (while supply lasts)
  • Treat stations along the routes
  • Frequent Rider Card used to help win prizes

Bike Palo Alto is 100 percent volunteer run. If you would like to help you can sign up here.
