Phase 4 of San Francisquito Bridge Project to Begin
Caltrans is about to begin Stage Four construction on the San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project at the border of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County on U.S. 101 in Palo Alto and East Palo Alto.
Beginning mid-December 2016, East Bayshore Road will temporarily re-open to traffic. Then in April 2017, one-way traffic control will resume until November to allow crews to complete construction of the new bridge.
West Bayshore Road will be completely closed between Woodland Avenue and Channing Road starting in April until the end of December. There will be no through access to traffic. This will allow crews to construct the West Bayshore Road Bridge. Residents will continue to have access to their property.
Detours and Changeable Message Signs will be in place to help guide motorists through the construction area. The scheduled completion date is spring 2018 (weather dependent).
NOTE: Residents may notice increased noise from demolition equipment and mandatory backup alarms while the contractor is working in the construction zone.
