The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue construction on the San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project at the border of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County on U.S. Route 101 in Palo Alto.
Beginning Wednesday, July 13, crews will begin demolition in the center median on U.S. 101 near East Bayshore Road. This work will continue for two weeks. No closures needed for this work.
The week of July 25, crews will begin demolition of the East Bayshore Road Bridge. The one-way traffic control will continue, and there are no additional closures are needed for this work. Once demolition of the bridge is completed, pile driving of the bridge will begin, which is schedule to be completed by the end of August, 2016.
Construction work in the median is scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Trucks will be entering and exiting on southbound U.S. 101 in the number one lane between University and Embarcadero.
NOTE: Residents may notice increased noise from demolition equipment and mandatory backup alarms while the contractor is working in the construction zone.
