Palo Alto Parent Project

"Because the tougher it gets to be a kid,

The tougher it gets to be a parent!"

The Palo Alto Police Department in partnership with the Palo Alto Unified School District presents the Parent Project.   This national program was created for parents with strong-willed or at-risk teens. 

Fall 2013 Session

September 5, 2013 through November, 2013 (12 Sessions)

Thursdays 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Greendell School, 4120 Middlefield Rd..

Topics addressed include:

  • How to improve children's school behavior, attendance and grades
  • Reduce/eliminate arguing and conflict in the home.
  • Create a loving and structured family life.
  • Understanding why teens do what they do
  • Recognize and prevent gang involvement
  • Prevent/eliminate child alcohol, drug and tobacco use.
  • Learn how to "out-will" a strong-willed child.
  • Internet, music, and media influences
  • Friendships, dating, and early sexual involvement.

Registration process:  You can register in person at the Palo Alto Police Department located at 275 Forest Ave.  Please call Detective Dan Pojanamat at 650-329-2274 to sign up for the English-only class. 

Cost:
  The fee for the 12-week program is only $120.00 per parent or 155.00 per couple. The cost includes meals and child care.
