Preparedness/Home Safety Visits
In order to recover quickly from any disaster, it is beneficial to be prepared before that emergency occurs. For the most complete resources go to the Office of Emergency Services
home page to find more information about becoming involved in your neighborhood and preparing your family for any disaster.
The Palo Alto Fire Department now offers a program, Home Safety Visits. A home safety visit is a visit to the home of residents in our community who are at risk. This includes vulnerable groups in the community including the elderly, people living alone with reduced mobility or sensory impairment and low income families. Our crews will offer safety advice, talk about slip and fall prevention and install smoke alarms where needed and will encourage families and individuals to work out an escape plan specific to their home and circumstances. To request a home safety visit please email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
