From Storyboard to Screen: Writing, Directing, Designing and Acting
For teen filmmakers a video production workshop with the accent on the art of creating successful, short pieces. We will explore music videos, memoirs, Public Service announcements, fiction and nonfiction forms. Each participant will get experience in all realms of creating short movies, from storyboarding to camera skills to editing and including acting and directing for the camera. Filmmaking is a collaborative art form, and you will create both solo and group projects throughout this intensive week. On the Friday we will hold a Film Festival where we’ll screen everyone’s creations to the public, as well as publish to YouTube for your world admirers. You may take one, two or all three classes.
Note: Final showcase on Friday at 2pm. Students with cameras, videotape, or laptop computers should let the instructor know.
Story Acting–Summer
Using familiar stories, improvisation, and creative movement, students leap into storytelling as they discover how their bodies and voices bring comedic or dramatic situations to life. This class allows students to unleash their unique, theatrical creativity and engage the imagination. Class may be repeated.
