Become an Emergency Services Volunteer

Palo Alto's Office of Emergency Services manages the city's Emergency Services Volunteer (ESV) program. Our ESVs are Palo Alto community members who want to make our city more prepared for the range of risks we face. This is a vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods-based volunteer program that is directly connected to the city's emergency management organization. Whatever your interest, we can find a role for you. Our Mission

  1. Provide supplemental resources to the professional first responders of Palo Alto and surrounding communities.
  2. Facilitate means for neighbors to help neighbors (including business and other entities).
  3. Promote preparedness efforts before a disaster to make our neighborhoods more resilient.
