Description:
The Children's Health Council (CHC), an out-patient clinic, has served the developmental needs of children and families in the community for 50 years. Founded in 1953 by Dr. Esther Clark, Palo Alto's first pediatrician, the nonprofit organization provides the highest quality mental health, special education, and developmental services for children and adolescents. CHC's unique team approach combines the expertise of specialists in child psychiatry, psychology, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, social work, special education and child development, to treat the whole child. In addition, CHC operates the Esther B. Clark non-public school, a day treatment program for children ages 6-16 with significant learning and behavioral challenges.
