Description: Provides case management services, early intervention services, diagnosis and evaluation, individual program planning, admission to and discharge from state developmental centers, out-of-home placement, court-ordered evaluation, guardianship services, counseling and advocacy, and the purchase of a wide array of services based on an assessment of the individuals' needs. Offers information on and referral to related resources. Community education regarding developmental disabilities available.

Notes The disability must begin before the 18th birthday, be expected to continue indefinitely and constitute a significant handicap. The disability must be due to one of the following conditions: Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism or a condition clearly related to mental retardation requiring similar treatment. Excluded are conditions which are solely psychiatric disorders, solely learning disabilities or solely phsyical in nature.
