Description: A year-round mental health treatment and special education program for children and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral problems and developmental learning disabilities who are 6 to 22. Offers a short- or long-term services depending on need. Will work with the family and school towards the child's gradual transition to a less restrictive environment, and to adult services systems. Services include a non-public school, psychological evaluation, individual, group and family therapy, speech and language therapy, art therapy, recreation, special education, sensory motor training and vocational training. Community integration includes community-based instruction, supported work training and mainstreaming with age appropriate peers. Parent educational and behavioral management provided through individual and group counseling. Also, offers parent support groups to program clients. Outpatient therapy is also provided to students not in AchieveKids school program and to their families. This may be funded by County Mental Health or Medical.
