Description: 
California Work Opportunities and Responsibilities to Kids (CalWORK's) is a cash assistance program for needy children through age 17 who have been deprived of the support or care of one or both parents by death, incapacity, absence or unemployment. Children 18 years of age may be eligible if they are in high school full time and will graduate before they turn 19. Two-parent households may be eligible when the parents are unemployed or incapacitated. Time limits and work requirements have recently been established for most applicants and recipients offers information on subsidized child care programs for the Santa Clara County. Written application required. Proof of income and assets, proof of family members, proof of residency and housing costs, proof of immigration status, if applicable.
